About Us

Our Saviour's Lutheran church is a family sized church of the Virginia Synod of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America, in Norge, Virginia. Norge is located on the western edge of Williamsburg. Folks in our community note us as the older style white church with the red doors. Our mission is to make Christ known through worship, education, and witness, inviting and serving the community and beyond.

As our location in Norge may suggest, we are a congregation that has its roots in the Scandinavian (in particular Norwegian) settlement that sprung up in this area in the late 1800s. We strive to both honor that strong and unique heritage AND live into and serve the changing community around us. We are a community of Christians from a variety of backgrounds and walks of life. We live and grow together as the body of Christ, called to serve Norge and beyond (1 Corinthians 12). After all, the church is not the building; the church is a people - gathered and sent - to be Christ's hands and feet in the world.
