We welcome you to Our Saviour’s Lutheran church! We are a congregation of the Virginia Synod of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America. We are so glad that you are here at OSLC! We are saving a place for you!
We strive to be a welcoming and affirming place for all people as we make Christ known through worship, education, and witness, serving the community and beyond. If you hear nothing else today, we hope that you hear this: You are loved, beyond measure, by the God made known in Jesus. We are called to be conduits of that love, as the body of Christ in this place.
We are so excited that beginning on September 4, our services will be moving into our new normal. While we recognize that COVID still represents a risk to our community. In the Green and Yellow CDC Zones, our services will be full services - with sung hymns and liturgies. If we move into the Orange Zone, we will adjust by reducing singing and the service lengths. Communion will be at the rail, with bread and individual glasses of wine or grape juice.
Masking requirements are now based on the new CDC community levels. If we are in the Green/ Low levels, masking is optional. If we are in the Yellow/ medium level, masks are strongly encouraged. If we are in the Orange/ high level, masks are required. We will require masking during singing, regardless of community levels. More information and our current levels can be found below.
We will continue the livestreams for all who prefer or are more comfortable joining us online.
"The Gospel doesn't need a coalition devoted to keeping the wrong people out. It needs a family of sinners, saved by grace, committed to tearing down the walls, throwing open the doors, and shouting, 'Welcome! There's bread and wine. Come eat with us and talk.' This isn't a kingdom for the worthy; it's a kingdom for the hungry"
