Our Saviour's Lutheran Church
Flower Policy
Altar Flowers
The altar flower ministry is an opportunity to provide glory to God, honor or remember loved ones, and mark special events.
As a people of faith, we bring our best as an offering to a gracious God, and this is expressed in quality, natural materials in worship whenever possible. Fresh flowers, potted or freshly cut, may be used to adorn the altar, including decorative branches, pine garland, pussy willows, and other foliage.
Following the worship service, you may pick up the flowers or live decorative arrangement, or they will be delivered to an ill or home-bound parishioner.
Procedure
- Sign-up on the Flower Chart located on the bulletin board on the right-hand side as one exits the nave of the church or via the church's web page at https://www.olscnorge.org.
- In observance of Lent, the altar is unadorned.
- Indicate whether the flowers are in memory of someone, for a particular holiday (e.g., Christmas, Easter, Pentecost, etc.), or in thanksgiving of a life-event (e.g., birthday, anniversary, etc.).
- Flowers can be provided by the
